Amidst all the chaos of our current government, the U.S. has at least one thing going for it: plenty of passionate, creative people willing to take to the streets to protest injustice and make sure the “American Experiment" lives up to its promise.
The Women's March. Pro-immigration rallies. Black Lives Matter events. The March for our Lives. Many of the button designs in my store include memorable signage from these and other recent protests, created by regular people who were inspired to speak out to make our world a better place.
Peaceful protest is one of the most patriotic acts of a free society. And its impact can reach far beyond just one day or event. Think of the March on Washington of 1963, Kent State, Stonewall. The political activism many of us are participating in today has the potential to change the course of history as well as real people's lives.
For me, creating these buttons is an act of curation - seeing, honoring, and giving permanence to those who are willing and able to speak truth to power. Each 1.25" button is made by hand, by me personally. I use professional quality tools to design and create my products, and I inspect each pinback before it is shipped, to ensure the highest quality possible. Shipping is First Class, flat rate, no matter how many items you purchase. I don't make a bundle from this business, but I believe in it.
