Così, nel 2006, sono entrato a far parte di etsy. Era il primo anno in cui si poteva entrare a far parte di etsy. Ho venduto gioielli sotto il nome di potatoface. Il negozio prende il nome dal mio adorabile bambino di 2 anni che ho chiamato PotatoFace. Un nome che da allora è diventato troppo grande, quindi per fortuna non l'ho messo sul certificato di nascita.
Anche nel 2006 ho avuto il mio secondo figlio, che da neonato sorrideva molto. Così, 13 mesi dopo, quando avevo bisogno di dissotterrare alcune cose, ho chiamato il mio secondo ramo dopo di lui. Smileyboy.
Da allora è cresciuto, ma ha ancora il sorriso, quindi il nome si è bloccato.
Ho fatto la cosa del destash per un po ', e poi ho avuto altri due figli ed ero piuttosto impegnato a gestire i quattro programmi sociali attivi e non ho avuto la possibilità di fare nulla di furbo davvero.
Tranne comprare più perline. Perché, uomo, amo le perline. Ora ne ho migliaia. E continuo a comprare di più. Ma mi piace solo guardarli e ordinare e contare. Ho smesso di fare perché mi rendo conto che amo il potenziale di una fornitura più del prodotto finito.
Nel 2013 ho riaperto Smileyboy come un'opportunità per collegare il potenziale nell'offerta al potenziale nei vostri cuori e cervelli creativi. Adoro seriamente vendere perline e pensare a tutte le cose interessanti che puoi fare con loro. Adoro quando i miei clienti inviano foto di ciò che hanno fatto per farmi vedere.

So, back in 2006, I joined etsy. It was the first year one could join etsy. I sold jewelry under the name potatoface. The shop was named for my adorable 2 year old whom I called PotatoFace. A name she has since outgrown, so thankfully I didn't put it on the birth certificate.
Also In 2006 I had my second child, who as an infant smiled a lot. So, 13 months later when I needed to destash some things, I named my second branch after him. Smileyboy.
He's since grown, but still has the smile, so the name has stuck.
I did the destash thing for a bit, and then had two more children and was quite busy managing the four active social schedules and didn't have a chance to do anything crafty really.
Except buy more beads. Because, man I love beads. Now I have thousands. And I keep buying more. But, I just like looking at them and sorting and counting. I've kind of stopped making because I realize I love the potential of a supply more than the finished product.
In 2013 I reopened Smileyboy as a chance to connect the potential in the supply to the potential in your creative hearts and brains. I seriously love selling beads and thinking of all the cool things you can make with them. I love when my customers send pictures of what they've made for me to see.
I know as your bead seller, my roll in your creative process is very small. But, I love that in my very small way I am part of the creation of some very cool craftiness.
