Some SnickleShop Tidbits:
WHAT'S MY PROCESS?
Usually the first step in making something is to be inspired. I enjoy looking at other handcrafted items, traveling, and referencing other cultures to get motivated. Once inspired, I think about how to craft an item: what will I need to complete the project? What’s the best way to construct it? Usually I write down ideas, draw illustrations of what I am visualizing, and the idea goes onto a project idea list. When I’m through with my current project, I refer to my project list and see what sparks my interest. So many ideas and such little time. Then it’s time to gather supplies I think I’ll need for bringing my project idea to life. Sometimes it works just as it did in my head; other times it needs fine tuning, a re-design, or to be scrapped. Just depends.
WHAT'S THE STORY BEHIND THAT FUNNY LOOKING DOODLE FACE AS YOUR SHOP LOGO?
My mom made that. My aunt did, too. Since my early childhood days, their notes and letters to me would often include this cute and girly doodle face. It’s Snickles! Snickles–to me–is upbeat, friendly, whimsical, and brings cheer. Thus the name of my online shop: SnickleShop.
