My life jacket through postpartum could no longer just be my rainbow baby.
My name is Rachel, I am a stay at home mommy to my precious son, Thomas, blessed to enjoy everyday with his daddy, and deeply rooted in my faith. And yet, even I struggled with Postpartum. There is only so long you can run on joy you create for others. It was time to pour only into myself. Even if it was a small think like wearing mascara, taking a second to use the bathroom alone, calling a friend and making the time. I asked God to help me feel whole so I could be a good mommy and partner, and he said “Are you ready to serve?
Well, I am now! I never would have imagined I could have a hobby outside of motherhood. Good was creating a path for me through the people who loved me. My MIL so generously let me pick a machine from her collection. I had expressed interest in passing and I am sure she saw the aw in my face when I got to tag along to our local fabric shop here in town. I thought I would just make a few cute things for my son, BUT…
People actually liked the things I made, and they began to love me! I created my small business facebook account called Snuggly Sweet Pea and was able to grow that page to over 700 followers. I still can not believe it. I have created so many lasting relationships through sharing, creating, gifting, and sharing grief with my lovely ladies.
I started a side mission for loss mommas and the ever trying mommas. It’s a battle I know too well. I was able to make special keepsakes for loss mommas, and my mommas who have waited and continue to. It started with a wait for me goose, and now has become so much more. I have been able to bless so many mommy’s with something to hold through grief, gotten to know them, their sweet sleeping babies, and ever gotten to see them become pregnant again. I truly have never felt so loved, than when I am able to love on them.
With the ever changing climate we live in, I have taken the plunge to start posting some creations here. I specialize in custom one of a kind items and will always offer that. I am so so grateful for my family, The man I am blessed to have support me, love and be loved by, cheer me on, and even when he doesn’t understand what it is, say it’s pretty. My precious son who saved me, gave me a reason to go to church again, my MIL who supported me, offered to pay for classes if I wanted, was the first to believe I could do this, and still tells me she is proud of my work, and my beautiful people I have met and gotten the privilege to know and love along the way.
And mostly, I am so blessed to have a loving father in heaven who created a way for me, with an interest I didn’t even know I had yet.
