A fun project that turned into a business!
My daughters (ages 9 and 10) dance group was fundraising for a trip to a dance convention and I was searching for unique ideas for us to create and sell...something the 3 of us could have fun doing together. Enter bracelet hair ties!!!
We had been buying these hair ties in many retail stores, and we loved them. They are soft, comfortable, don't damage your hair, and great to wear on your wrist as a bracelet so you always have hair elastic with you. So we ordered some ribbon to get us started...and then the ideas really started bubbling! What if we added beads, charms, had "cool" colors and patterns for kids and some a little more sophisticated for women?! The options are endless and much more affordable than the ones in stores, and also a much higher quality with heat sealed ends to ensure durability.
The first hair ties we made were a hit at the fundraiser (yay!) and then myself and the girls started wearing all of our different creations and were getting asked if we could sell them to others. While that hadn't been our original plan, we loved the idea of continuing to create our hair ties together and to share with others.
So here we are, creating fun, unique and trendy bracelet hair ties and headbands. These are great just for everyday wear, as gifts, and party favors. We have really evolved our business over the past year and still really love to collaborate on ideas together and with our customers.
