A Little Bit About Me and My Mission
I was born in our Nations Capital, Washington D.C. in the 60's. My family moved around a bit when I was a baby, but then eventually settled in Davenport, Iowa. I'll always consider the small, quaint, rural city of Davenport to be my home town. I eventually moved to sunny California where I currently live with my husband, son, two dogs, two cats and two boa constrictors (yes, snakes). I attended the Savannah College of Art and Design for two years, and after moving to California, I attended the Otis Art Institute of Parson's School of Design (Otis/Parsons) for another two years. My major was fine art and painting.
Okay, blah blah blah. Who cares about all that boring crap?? Now on to the fun stuff...
I worked with polymer clay many, many years ago and recently was inspired by a friend who does Lamp Work, to get back into doing Arts & Crafts. I was amazed with the progress that the media has made and all the creative things you can do with this stuff. I enjoy working with my hands and love bright contrasting colors (Purple being my favorite). My "Sign Language" jewelry Was inspired by my Sister-in-law who is deaf. She opened my eyes to whole wonderful community of beautiful people. There aren't enough businesses catering to their needs, but I want to be one that does.
