Discovering My Soul Role.
After years of traveling around the US and Europe(following the Grateful Dead!) I moved to Hawaii in 1992 with dreams of living in harmony with the Earth.Since the late 80's when I became aware of environmental issues ,I have worked to align my art with my love for Mother Earth.My passion is creating organic apparel that feels AND looks amazing and will last for years to come.
In 2009 I was testing the waters with Etsy and was thrilled to see that there were many people grateful to find a source of organic apparel and home options.I had been mulling over a business name for months when I had the opportunity to attend a yoga workshop on Maui in 2010 for my my 40th birthday.I was feeling at a crossroads in life,and wanted to use this weekend(my first ever away from my children) to gain some clarity especially on the direction of my business.After an intense morning of yoga I attended satsang with Ram Dass. I had read "Be Here Now" by Ram Dass when I was 20,and my heart and mind were opened up in a powerful way. It was amazing to see how life had brought me to this moment on Maui - mother of four,wife,seamstress,homesteader.At one point RD was speaking about our roles in life and our most important one - our Soul Role - for our soul to be loving awareness. When he spoke those two words I knew I had found the name I had been seeking for my business. For me it perfectly captured how I viewed my work ...my soul practicing loving awareness in the material world. Creating apparel that does not harm the earth,that wraps us in an intention of love and awareness of all that we truly are AND are capable of.
