I have a full time Marketing job that I love, but I was working nights doing Casino banquets for extra income. I hated going, but enjoyed the money. One day at a craft show, I saw someone holding a wooden sign. I had that, "I could do that" thought, I quit my second job and Southern by Design was created.
When deciding how I wanted run this little hobby I decided to keep true to myself. I love decorating and buying cute things for my house and closet. However, I'm frugal to a fault! :) I set my prices not to 'beat out competitors', but because I personally would never pay that much! So my goal is to provide adorable home décor and gifts to people like me. My "cheaper prices" in no way reflect the quality or time spent on my items. I put heart and soul into each piece. That is also why I sometimes stop making certain items. If it's not fun to make then it's not a hobby anymore - it's work.

Do you charge extra for personalization?
No. Anything in the shop can be personalized with your choice of name or saying FOR NO ADDITIONAL CHARGE. The only exceptions are Ready to Ship items that have already been written on and digital files that are sold without a name. (The listing details will specify if that's the case.)
Do you combine shipping charges for multiple items?
Yes and no. The shop is set up to offer combined shipping on orders with multiple items. Just add them to your cart and you'll see the total shipping before you check out. PLEASE NOTE!Door signs and Clay items CANNOT be shipped together due to packaging. Please place as two separate orders for accurate shipping charges. Sublimation items can be shipped with either.
Do you charge extra for rushing orders?
No. I do not charge extra for rushing an order. If you need an item by a certain date please message me first to check if I can do it in time and always include the date you need it by in the comments section when placing the order.
