Southern Rustic Meets Sleek Modern

It originally started with family members dreaming of having their own shop, running it together and then having a bakery tied into the store. It wasn’t until a few years later that the idea came to life and we finally went for it, well the shop that is. Who knows, a bakery may be in the near future too! If you want to hear the cool longer version of the story we’d love to tell you about it one day so don’t be shy, ask away!

Our original round coffee table also known as the Falabella, has been our most popular item since we first started the shop. Customers love that they can customize the size, height, color etc. Since then we’ve developed, added new designs to be sold regularly on the shop and the brand new favorite known as the “Rachela.” We love designing new items for customers looking for something that fits perfectly into their home. We build each table from the ground up by hand and any additional materials are made by fellow small business owners.

We absolutely love all styles of furniture design and we’ve never wanted to limit our designs to only one style. One of our goals we first set out with is that we would create products that everyone can enjoy customizing and afford on any budget. We’re focused on modern clean lines, smooth wood grains, natural materials while mixing styles ranging from industrial, rustic, modern and contemporary.

One of the biggest things we noticed when shopping for furniture (just as you have most likely) is that when you walk into a store, there are only 2 sizes available and 2 color options to choose from. If you’re like most people searching for that perfect item, then those options usually don’t cut it or even fit into your current living situation.

Each home owner has a different space and living situation where one may be able to put a 10’ long dining table in their kitchen where someone in a Chicago loft apartment can fit a 40” wide round table. We’re customers just like you and at the end of the day we want something affordable, durable and functional so we totally get you.

We’re always focused on improving each product by researching and improving the stains, finish and quality of each table so you get the best product for your investment.

Frequently asked questions
What happens after I place my order?

We send you off to the Bahamas for a week (kidding but hey one can dream). Once you’ve made the decision on which product you want customized, we contact you and go over any questions you have. If you’re trying to match your current home décor we encourage you to send us photos if you’re having a hard time deciding on what color to choose. Once the top is done, we’ll send you a photo of the top with the first stain coat on it to see. That way you can make your decision if you want to stick with one coat or go a little darker with a second, third coat.

I found a certain design that I would like to have customized. Can I send you the photo to recreate it?

Absolutely. We welcome your ideas and look forward to creating the perfect custom item for your home. If there is something we can’t do we’ll let you know.

What type of lumber do you use?

We use top grade lumber that ranges from pine, oak and cedar for more perfectly milled planks. We also use reclaimed wood that contains its original patina and imperfections that range from poplar, cypress, oak and walnut.

Do you accept returns?

Please contact us within 3 days of receiving your order if your item is damaged with written documentation, photos of the product and damaged box.

For all returns excluding damages and defects, you must repackage the order using the items’ original packaging materials assuring that the product is suitable for shipping. You are responsible to ship the order back to Southern Sunshine. You can use a shipping carrier that is the most convenient for you. You are required to contact us about the return within 10 days of receiving of your order. All return orders are subject to a 25% restocking fee. All custom items and/or made to order items are a final sale and not eligible for return.

Do you offer free shipping on all of your items?

Free shipping is offered on select products throughout our shop. If you live in AK or HI additional rates may apply. Contact us for more information.

How long does it typically take to get my order?

Production lead times can change from time to time but overall most of our custom/made to order items can take between 2-5 weeks. Items in stock can take 3-5 days before they are booked or packed to ship out. Please feel free to email us for any questions on your order.

Can I customize your products?

YES! We offer more options through our website but if you are looking for a certain size, color etc. we can customize it accordingly. Please contact us before or after you purchase if you need a specific size to fit with current home decor. If you do not make us aware that you need an exact dimension beforehand, then each item could be a tiny hair off depending on the natural material used and/or thickness. For example, ordering a 19" high coffee table with a wood top could end up being 19 1/4" or 18.95" high. Also expansion can play a part with any wood products shipped to another environment.

Do you offer expedited production?

Yes we do. Contact us for more information on expedited fees.

How do you ship your items?

We use various options from Fedex, white glove, LTL freight and uShip carriers. Most of our listings here feature the Freight option for larger items (which you can learn more about right below) or Fedex Ground. If you are interested in other shipping options to ship your product please contact us or learn more at our website.

Freight: This service is provided by a freight carrier that delivers products on a pallet via curbside. If you’re a residential customer and need lift gate assistance, an additional fee may apply depending on the carrier. This service provides a PRO tracking # for you to track your product that typically arrives within 3-6 days. You will be responsible to dispose of the wooden crate that it arrives on.
