Stacked Woolens, your source for fun and simple knitting patterns
When I left my job in retail management to become a mom, I sort of wondered what I would do to occupy myself. Those of you who are parents will know that I very quickly found that my hands were quite full.
I did find though that I still needed a creative outlet to keep my mind occupied. My creative attempts at cooking were not really appreciated, so I turned toward my knitting again. My hands and mind were busy creating projects based on the things I was reading in Elizabeth Zimmerman’s books. Those who are familiar with her books won’t be surprised to know that I was soon designing my own projects, and published my first design in 2011, shortly after my son began school full time.
When I am not creating and designing, I can be found spending time at my son’s school, tutoring students in reading and teaching students to knit in the after school program, and in the kitchen, where I am learning to cook Indian food and Paleo friendly recipes.
I love seeing my ideas come to life in knitting, whether it is in a shawl, hat or sweater. The process of writing, marketing and supporting my designs continues to be an enjoyable pursuit. I hope that you find my patterns inspiring and fun to knit. If you have questions or need some help please feel free to contact me via email at stackedwoolens [!at] gmail.com.
