My family has been fans of hockey and the Chicago Blackhawks for as long as I can remember. My weekends as a kid were spent running around an ice rink with my siblings as my dad played games with local hockey leagues. When I was 10, my purse of choice was most definitely my Blackhawks fanny pack, and I still have the ticket from my first game at the UC displayed proudly in my room- from 2003, where a seat only cost $15.

Despite my love for the sport, I unfortunately wasn’t really graced with much athletic ability. Fashion design is another great passion of mine, and one I found I actually had the skill to pursue. By the time I was 18, I already had about 7 years of sewing experience and decided to continue my education and build on my existing skill set at Dominican University.

Stanley Cup Style was born during the 2013 playoffs, when I had some extra time on my hands, new skills in design, and most surprisingly, nothing to wear when keeping up with the Hawks. I found that the readily-available women’s fan apparel is just the worst- it’s either a basic tee with a logo half-heartedly slapped on the front, or even worse- nonexistent, meaning you’re stuck in a boxy, unflattering men’s tee.

So what exactly is Stanley Cup Style? It’s the answer to this problem- women’s Blackhawks apparel that fits, flatters, and is actually fashionable. I began with the Chelsea Dagger Tanks (which feature hand-cut stencils and intricate bead detailing), and due to the incredible response from family and friends, I expanded into scarves, jewelry, and other apparel and accessories for the Blackhawks and other NHL teams. Each piece is created with female fans in mind who love combining their passsion for the toughest sport with their own killer style.

Stanley Cup Style is NOT a craft- I do not use hot glue or techniques suitable for girl scouts (no offense to girl scouts, I just never had the chance to be one as a kid haha) - Each piece is created using either professional design standards or intricate handwork in order to bring you the best quality piece I can create. (In other words it is made with love and my personal obligation to use my college degree)

I have had an absolute blast creating and running this business, and being able to do it during the “Golden Age” of Chicago hockey has been indescribable. I love collaborating with customers on custom designs, items for different teams, or even just adding their favorite player’s numbers to an item.
