BACKSTORY OF THE COMPANY & IT'S PROPRIETOR
Starlite Vintiqs was birthed from the inspiration of Proprietor, Estreitta de Kluetz. Estreitta’s vision of bringing together unique and vintage decorating and design ideas. Her inspiration is evident in the selection of procured items available for purchase at Starlite Vintiqs. She had goal to ultimately create a vintage lifestyle brand and company.
Estreitta was born on the East Coast and raised in the DFW Metroplex Area in a rural community about 35 miles northwest of Fort Worth. Growing up in the 1980's in rural Texas away from the hustle and bustle of city life, she was greatly influenced by classic and iconic television shows like I Love Lucy, Denise the Menace, Happy Days, Laverne & Shirley, Little House on the Prairie, The Brady Bunch and Quantum Leap to name a few. Her fascination of stories of the past grew into an appreciation of antiques and vintage items.
It had been a lifelong dream of Estreitta’s to be her own boss of vintage lifestyle company...
“I have had a deep appreciation and love for all things vintage since I was a little girl. On the weekends, my father - a regional truck driver, and my mother - a Central American immigrant homemaker, would cart me and my little brother around to flea markets and antique malls all over Texas. I was utterly mesmerized by the menagerie of antiques I saw, my love for historical items come to life.”
In June 2013, Estreitta, with her husband Erik's encouragement and support, decided to open a vintage lifestyle company named Starlite Vintiqs. The first Starlite Vintiqs booth opened in October 2013 inside a local antique mall in Hurst, Texas. In 2016, Starlite Vintiqs expanded their offerings at a prime location in the Keller, Texas area inside Memories N' Treasures Antique Mall. In the fall of 2019, Starlite Vintiqs closed their booth location became strictly an online seller.

What does Vintiq [vinˈtēk] mean?
vin·tiq /ˈvinˈtēk/
Noun
: a collectible object such as a piece of furniture, decor, housewares or work of art that is valued because of its unique characteristics due to its age or time-period in which it was

The word antique technically means something that is highly valuable because of its considerable age of 100 years or more. Most understand that what they may find in any "antique" mall is a variety of items from the 90's to 13th century. Most of the items we purchase for resale come from the 50's to the 90's that would or could be best defined as vintage rather than antique. But we also like to find unusual and unique vintage items.
So when I was thinking of what to name my new venture, I decided to combine the words: vintage, antique, and unique to make the word Vintiq. Most of the time you will see it spelled vintique but if you know me, you would know that I don't always like to spell words like everyone else. For instance I use kewl instead of cool, cause I think cool just looks boring, so about 15 years ago I started writing kewl and it stuck ;)
I define vintique as an object that is 20 years old or more. To me, it’s a more accurate term for the merchandise we sell.
