Hi there, I'm Jenny. I've been creating, doodling, painting and crafting since I was a young girl. If you met me when I was 10 years old I would have told you "when I grow up, I want to be an Artist"! I did go to art college, but fell out of love with the idea of being an Artist. I studied History of Art at University and worked in art publishing at Thames & Hudson for many years.

However, in my spare time, since my early 20s, I taught myself to sew. For 20+ years that's been my favourite creative outlet, and when I had children, and stopped working, it became ever more important to have that expressive form of escape!

When my eldest child was 7, she wanted to learn to sew with me. I began teaching her sewing machine skills, embroidery, and felt crafts. My heart was full, and even her younger brother got in on the act from an early age, sewing pillows for cuddly toys, and dinosaur cross-stitch. Nobody taught me to sew when I was a child, which is such a shame as my Grandmother was a talented seamstress who made clothes for my teddies. Even my Mum sewed clothes for us, but these secrets were never shared with me!

In 2015 I started teaching Stitch Club at my childrens' primary school. My first class included my daughter and her friends, aged 9. I think I had as much fun as the kids - and ever since then there has been a waiting list at the school to get involved with my classes!

Of course, everything stopped for Covid, and this is where the Stitch Club kits filled a gap in my creative life. I'm self taught in graphic design and I adore drafting excellent patterns and designing clear illustrations. I'm passionate about helping you and your child learn to sew because I can see how incredible it has been for my own daughter's emotional well-being. My kits are designed to be accessible, even if you've never sewn before, and if you get stuck, I'm just an email away.
