Welcome to my store. My first knitting project was a scarf when I was nine years old. I loved the idea of creating something myself and found the process of making each stitch soothing. Several members of my family are knitters and sewers, and my granddad used to crochet, so it seemed very natural to me. It was years until I began knitting again though and only during the pandemic when I got into crochet.
It is said that you should do what you love, and for some time, I have thought about opening a shop. That too seemed natural as members on both sides of my family had or have their own businesses. As I love needle crafts, it is the perfect fit for me. It is my hope that my shop will inspire others to take up needle crafts as well.
I am an Independent Retailer for many needle craft suppliers so appear on many of my wholesalers' websites. This is your assurance that you are buying a product supplied by that company and not a pirated copy. Occasionally, there are manufacturing defects in products, and the companies I am an Independent Retailer for accept returns and exchanges that are due to manufacturing defects. If you buy a pirated copy, however, it will likely be inferior and/or defective, and you will not be able to return or exchange it.

Brilliant. I would love to see a picture of your masterpiece once it's finished to see how that color combination worked in your project if you do not mind sending me a picture. Thank you so much for your review.

INFORMATION ABOUT RETURNS
.
Most items in this shop are NOT eligible for a return or exchange. Please see each listing's details to see which ones are. Those that are must be (a) returned unused and in the original condition, (b) packed with the same care in which they were received in the same package with the original packaging, (c) shipped with tracking and insurance for the entire journey at the buyer's expense, and then (d) please send the tracking #(s) to me as soon as shipped.
ADDI / CHIAOGOO / LYKKE ITEMS WITH MANUFACTURING DEFECTS (rare): These are eligible for a replacement by the supplier, but they must be returned directly to the supplier and only after the buyer has discussed the problem with them. Please message me for the supplier's contact info.
Orders of $240+
If your order costs more than $240, would you please split it into two orders? Etsy's sellers' coverage only goes up to $250, and USPS' weighing scales may not match mine, so I allow for an extra $10 wiggle room just in case to avoid an overage charge from USPS. Thank you for your understanding.
Organic safety levels
.
There are three levels of organic. In order of safety, they are:
GOTS - has the strictest standards so is the safest level of organic worldwide.
Oeko-Tex - there are several levels of Oeko-Tex. See the link in the FAQ section below this one.
Organic BUT only IF it contains nontoxic (non-acid) dyes. Dyes adhere more easily to organic yarn so dyers may prefer it, and toxic dyes can cause cancer and other health issues.
GOTS yarns in this shop - please see the description in each of the GOTS yarn listings to learn more about GOTS.
Organic yarn in this shop - please see the "About (yarn name)" section in the description for each of the yarn listings.
What do GOTS and OEKO-TEX mean?
.
GOTS ...

Washing instructions for items made with organic, OEKO-TEX, or GOTS certified yarn
.
Please hand wash separately in cold water with a gentle organic detergent and lay flat to dry to avoid the following:
(a) Shrinkage (especially if made from 100% of an animal fiber, such as wool, alpaca, or llama as these items felt so could end up shrinking to the size of children's or dolls' clothes).
(b) Turning organic items into non-organic items since conventional detergents and items in the laundry that are made from non-GOTS materials typically contain chemicals.
Why (b) is important: https://oecotextiles.blog/2010/11/10/how-to-get-rid-of-chemicals-in-fabrics-hint-trick-question/
Knitting levels 1 and 2: Very Easy (Beginner) and Easy (Advanced Beginner)
.
LEVEL 1 (VERY EASY) - FOR BEGINNERS: Requires knowledge of casting on and off, knit and purl, and increasing and decreasing stitches.
LEVEL 2 (EASY) - FOR ADVANCED BEGINNERS: Requires knowledge of basic stitches (i.e. K2tog – knit 2 together), repetitive stitch patterns (i.e. seed stitch), simple color changes (i.e. striping), simple shaping, basic finishing (i.e. weaving in ends), and blocking your project.
NOTE ABOUT LEVELS 2-4: It is essential to knit a swatch and block it BEFORE knitting a fitted item like gloves or a sweater. If the pattern designer knits more tightly or loosely than you, you will need a different needle size.
Knitting levels 3 and 4: Medium (Intermediate) and Difficult (Advanced / Experienced)
.
LEVEL 3 (MEDIUM / INTERMEDIATE): Designs at the medium level are for more sophisticated patterns such as cable or lace patterns, easy fair isle or intarsia patterns, and with elaborate cuts (e.g. sidecut). They require experience with DPNs and circulars, "magic loop" (using a very long round needle to work on a small project), simple color-work (i.e. intarsia), mid-level shaping (i.e. armholes), mid-level finishing (i.e. stitching two pieces together), simple lacework, basic cables, bobbles.
LEVEL 4 (DIFFICULT / EXPERIENCED / ADVANCED: For advanced color-work (intarsia and fair isle with several color changes), advanced lacework, cables, and advanced techniques (i.e. knitting short rows).
Details about needle craft listings in this shop
Before making a purchase, please click on the description for each listing to learn more about it. Each one contains a very detailed description. For example, yarn listings contain the following details:
- Whether a range or color has been discontinued.
- The fiber content.
- The yarn weight (US and UK).
- The weight in grams and ounces.
- The length in yards and meters.
- Other details.
- For Noro yarns, a link to Noro pattern magazines sold in this shop is included. After clicking on the link, you will see pictures on the left of all the patterns in a magazine. If you look at the yarn details below each picture, you will see which yarn is needed for each pattern.
Do you smoke, use perfume, or have pets?
No to all three. In regard to yarn ...
-- All yarns are kept in bags in cupboards or on shelves and are not exposed to anything that can cause allergies.
-- The reason I do not accept returns on GOTS yarns is because they have gone through the strictest levels of anti-contamination, so I take care to maintain that state out of respect for my customers.
-- I wash my hands frequently, including every time I enter my home, so yarns are always handled with clean hands.
