A really good family game is something we all remember from our childhoods. It's that winning combination of spending time together, blended with the laughter, excitement and intrigue that a good game generates.

I take classic card game formats and give them a contemporary feel. The games featured in my new Etsy shop are the family card games that I have personalised in various ways.

So why did I start personalising family card games ? Well first of all, it makes for a really great gift. (And by the way, my card games about names include personalised gift wrap paper). So let's imagine that you know someone called James. And you buy 'James's Game' from me to give to him. You receive the game, wrap it in the accompanying sheet of personalised James gift wrap paper and then present it to James.

Let's imagine what James sees: A little gift wrapped in paper with his name all over it. Neat! How cool is that ? Curiousity aroused, James opens the gift wrap paper and is surprised to find a "James Game" inside. Super cool! His "very own" game! And then when he plays the game, he will be delighted that every card has something about James on it. So a whole new world of James things opens up as he plays: The meaning of the name, its origins and a look at some of the great, glorious and goofy people who also happen to share the wonderful name James.

And because you have also friends and relatives who aren't called James, I have painstakingly researched all sorts of other names too. (Hint: They're in my new store - go take a look!).

And I also personalise games by family names. I heard people talking about "their family game". By this they meant the game that their family most often played together. So Jenga or Operation or Rummy or whatever was "their family game". And I thought "but I can do better than that". So I took the classic HAPPY FAMILIES card game format and gave it my own personalisation treatment.

And hey presto, that's a great gift idea too! So in my new Etsy shop, you'll also find my HAPPY SMITH FAMILIES, HAPPY JONES FAMILIES and many more. The chances are that you know families with those names and I have to tell you, the reaction you get when you give a Smith family "Happy Smith Families" is just sensational. It's a real 'winner' of a gift idea.

And finally there is a range of birthday games to add a bit of extra fun to landmark birthdays. These also come with gift wrap paper and here the paper shows the birthday age. So for example, if you order the 80th Birthday Game then you will also receive a sheet of 80th Birthday gfit wrap paper.
