Ich habe StoneMetal Design 2011 gegründet, weil ich einfach nicht viel Schmuck finden konnte, der ein "Outdoory" -Flair hatte. Auch als Kletterer dachte ich, es wäre schön, eine Halskette aus pensionierter Kletterausrüstung zu haben, aber auch hier konnte ich keine finden. Also beschloss ich, sie selbst zu entwerfen und zu machen, daher wurde StoneMetal Design geboren.
Eine Sache, die ich mit meinem Kletterschmuck erreichen wollte, war, dass ich wollte, dass er wie echter Schmuck aussieht - nicht nur ein Stück Ausrüstung, das an einer Schnur hängt. Ich entdeckte das Kumihimo-Geflecht, das einem Kletterseil sehr ähnlich sieht und mit Satinschnüren hergestellt werden kann, die in einer Vielzahl von Farben erhältlich sind, so dass ich schöne Farbkombinationen erstellen kann.
Ich nahm dann an Kursen im Drahtwickeln teil, damit ich attraktive Drahtbügel herstellen konnte, um das Stück Ausrüstung an der Halskette zu befestigen. Das Ergebnis ist ein atemberaubendes Schmuckstück, das beim Klettern oder bei einer Nacht in der Stadt getragen werden kann.
Ich genieße es wirklich, Armbänder und Halsketten aus natürlichen Materialien - Leder, Edelsteine, Metall - herzustellen, die ein Outdoor-Flair haben. Ich nehme ständig an Kursen teil, um meine Technik zu verbessern und neue Fähigkeiten zu erlernen. Ich kann jeden meiner Schmuckstücke anpassen, alles, was Sie tun müssen, ist zu fragen!
I started StoneMetal Design in 2011 because I just could not find a lot of jewelry that had an "outdoorsy" flair. Also, as a rock climber, I thought it would be neat to have a necklace made from retired climbing gear, but again, I could not locate one. So, I decided to design and make them myself, hence StoneMetal Design was born.
One thing I wanted to achieve with my rock climbing jewelry was that I wanted it to look like real jewelry - not just a piece of gear hanging on a string. I discovered Kumihimo braiding, which looks very much like a climbing rope, and can be created using satin cords that come in a variety of colors, allowing me to create beautiful color combinations.
I then took courses in wire wrapping so I could create attractive wire bails to attach the piece of gear to the necklace. The result is a stunning piece of jewelry that can be worn climbing or a night on the town.
I truly enjoy making bracelets and necklaces made from natural materials - leather, gemstones, metal - that have an outdoorsy flair. I am constantly taking courses to improve my technique and learn new skills. I can customize any of my jewelry, all you have to do is ask!
