I just stumbled upon the love...
I am a graphic design student at Pennsylvania College of Technology. I recently took two ceramics classes with an outstanding instructor and mentor David Stabley. He made me realize the love I have for the hands on art of clay works!
I soon realized that carving is my style and I find myself really getting into each piece that I make. I love the contrast of highs and lows that the clay takes on as I carve into it. It's amazing the transformation and honestly it's a tad bit addicting to reach the ultimate goal of the final product! I just love what I do!
Saul Bass once said, "I want to make beautiful things, even if nobody cares.” I truly feel this way about carving clay! I put my heart and soul into each piece and I do it because of the beauty of it, not because I want to please everyone around me.
My reason for opening an Etsy shop: I want to share this love and beauty with the world!
I started working at home after we purchased a kiln and put it in our garage. Then last April my wonderful husband bought me a wheel & built me a wedging table. We cleared a little spot in the basement, where I can relax and play with mud!
This is how Stone Root Studio was formed! Thank you for stopping by!
