Handmade Jewelry that is Beautiful, Unique and Fun...just like you!
To work with my hands is a joy.
To create for others is a blessing.
To bless others is happiness.
I’m Sta-C and I am a metal jewelry artist.
I discovered metalsmithing and jewelry creation in the mountains of GA at a Lapidary retreat called William Holland. I was learning to facet gemstones yet found myself fascinated by what all the other students were doing with silver and copper. Although I loved faceting and shaping stones, I was being drawn to learn all I could about metalsmithing.
Early on I began posting my metal jewelry pieces on Facebook and found people loving my work and asking to purchase custom pieces. So, I opened a shop on Etsy and have enjoyed every minute of the experience. It's fulfilling to be part of a community of makers and to share my creations with the world. It is thrilling when one of my pieces ships off to the other side of the world. I also display my work in a few local shops and at the occasional craft fair.
The lure of glittering gemstones and unique semi-precious stones is irresistible to me. Each is unique and has its own personality. I love to bring out the natural beauty of each stone and will often keep the setting simple so the stone sings. I also love to let the metal be the focus and am captivated by the interconnection of woven and braided work. You will also see a Celtic influence in many of my pieces.
Although I love Silver, I am drawn to blending it with brass and copper. There is something very unique and alluring about copper with touches of silver. I give my mixed metal pieces a relaxed and weathered quality.
I choose to work in metal because it has a sense of permanence while at the same time being so malleable. I love to see it transformed from a flat sheet into a curved ring or pendant. I create pieces that can be passed down from generation to generation. I take great care with each piece so it can be a lasting heirloom. I'm always looking for new methods, designs and unusual techniques, while maintaining a classic foundation. Each piece is designed to bring happiness and joy to the wearer!
