Don't blink you'll miss it!
I decided in the dreaded Lockdown to open my Etsy Shop. I thought ' I'll give it a go and see if there is anyone out there who likes what I like' I wanted to focus on more of the Italian Street images, but also I cannot resist some of my own countries locations.
It was a slow burn but when I made my first sale, I was over the moon. Just the pleasure of knowing that person has a piece of something I created was lovely.
I really love Italy and anything Italian.... I love to sit (or stand) and watch the Italians go about their day, hoping to catch an interesting image or capture a place that reminds people of their own visit.
As I'm wandering around with my camera, I am sometimes disappointed that I hesitated and missed a shot of what I saw was happening in front of me.
So as well as enjoying my day and my own surroundings, I am watching for that 'decisive moment' that many of the great early photographers spoke about.
I print my own images unless the commission is for something mahoosive, then I send to my chosen printers.
I use a selection of papers depending on the image.
My creative designs warrant the more expensive fine art papers, some of the street images lend themselves to a Matt paper to really give the image an old school feel. But generally the Lustre paper gives a great finish.
I package and post the parcel myself, so I know it is on its way to the new viewer.
