Note from shop owner Hello! I am working on completing current orders at the moment. I have recently started a new job and I have found that I am having a difficult juggling between work demands and Etsy demands so I am putting my shop into vacation mode as I settle into a new routine. Thank you so much for your patience and understanding!

A lovely, sturdy rabbit. Just as pictured. I would do business with this seller again.

I love these little sculptures! Each one is unique. Thank you for the extras; they all have special places in the kitchen.

About

Animals and Art, Two Loves, One Passion

When I was about two, my mother gave me a some crayons and paper so I could "scribble". I proceeded to draw my own rendition of a frog, which thrilled my mother because it actually vaguely resembled one. She and my father made copies and proudly distributed them. Ever since, no matter the medium, I have a hard time creating anything that doesn't have something to do with animals or nature.

Last year my family, relocated to a town right near the edge of the Ocala National Forest. It's easy now to find inspiration in my own front garden with all the diverse species of birds and wildlife that come to visit. The move inspired me so much that I changed the name of my shop to Studio By the Forest.

My "studio" is at my home and not confined to one room. Some days I like to create while sitting outside, surrounded by a canopy of oaks while other days I'm inside by a window, watching the antics of my squirrels and birds as I sculpt.

My favorite creating medium of the moment is clay, though I do dabble in other types of artwork as I feel inspired. I love the tactile nature of clay and the ability to capture amazing textures. I love richly colored stoneware clays , and also the silkiness of white porcelain.

We live in a rambling sort of home that we have named "Treetops" because when you are upstairs you feel just like you are in a treehouse. I am happily married to my husband, Shawn, and we have four creatively minded children. We've also got quite a menagerie of pets.

Payment
Payment is expected immediately after commitment to purchase the item unless previous arrangements are made.
Shipping
Items will be shipped Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays and will be handled through USPS, shipped First Class or Priority in most instances.

International items will ship First Class International as this is the most economical option. This service may take as long as 6 weeks depending on location.

International customers are responsible for all fees associated with shipping to their respective countries. PLEASE don't ask me to lie on customs forms.

Please make sure your address is correct before check out. Customer is responsible for any additional fees due to incorrect address OR failure to pick up package in a timely manner resulting in the package being returned to me.
Refunds and Exchanges
In the case of items damaged during shipping, please contact me immediately (within 3 days of receiving order) because I would like to do what I can to make it right. Please include photographs so I can see where the damage occurred and to verify that it is indeed damage and not due to the design of the piece (i.e. a distressed finish or intended crackling). I need these photographs to be able to file a claim with the USPS.

As always with handmade items there may be some variations as to color, size, and general appearance, in cases where a buyer is unhappy with the final product--I am happy to remake and make it right at no additional charge to the buyer. If a refund is preferred it will be issued as soon as the item in question is returned in the original shipping box (to ensure safety during shipping). I do not reimburse for shipping charges.
Additional policies and FAQs
Custom orders and Made to orders are generally taking me at least 14 M-F days to complete. Ceramic pieces need to be thoroughly dried before the first firing (or they can explode), each firing cycle can take anywhere from 18-24 hours. Please allow time for item to be created when purchasing custom or made to order items. I am taking the weekends off from creating to spend time with my family. Purchases made on Fridays may not be sculpted until Monday. Any delays in communication may extend the 14 days to complete an item.

Please understand that I am the main member of my studio and am responsible for the designing, creating, and shipping of each piece. At times of high volumes of orders there may be slight delays due to volume of workload or damage during firings. If time is an issue please inquire to find out if I am running on schedule before ordering. I work in batches and different pieces may require different firing cycles which may cause conflicts and delays.

In purchasing a made to order listing you, the buyer, acknowledge that you understand that you will receive a similar item made with similar materials and techniques. In the event that any of the original materials become unavailable, substitutions will be made with every attempt to keep this item as close to the original as possible. I do not use molds for these items so each is a unique piece that may have it's own character and expression, the signature of a hand sculpted piece. If a photo of the finished piece is desired before shipping, this is possible but may delay the order beyond the scheduled shipment date.

AT THIS TIME I DO NOT OFFER ANY WHOLESALE PRICING. I carefully price my items by the time it takes me to make them and the difficulty involved. I am not able to mass produce large quantities of the same item and sell at a reduced rate because the same work (if not more) is involved which each piece no matter how many pieces are in the order.

I do not currently use PayPal. I am sorry for the inconvenience.
