A passion for things made of wood
Comencé a recolectar madera mucho antes de ser un trabajador de la madera. En un momento, estaba muy interesado en la metalurgia y la soldadura. Pronto me cansé de las chispas y el hedor de los metales en llamas. En algún momento alrededor del comienzo del milenio, adquirí un profundo interés en la madera.
Jugué al billar para ganarme la vida, y tenía un fuerte deseo de tener un taco de piscina hecho a medida. No pude pagar a un herrero de tacos para que me construyera un taco de piscina, pero pude juntar suficiente dinero para comprar mis primeras sierras y un torno.
Poco después, estaba construyendo pistas de piscina y disfrutando de mi nueva pasión por trabajar con las diversas maderas de todo el mundo.
Con la adquisición de muchas herramientas a lo largo de los años, pronto me encontré haciendo cientos de cosas diferentes de madera. Pude hacer casi cualquier cosa que necesitara con maderas finas y hermosas.
Por supuesto, cuando amigos y familiares comenzaron a ver las cosas que estaba haciendo... tenían que tener algo parecido. No pasó mucho tiempo antes de que extraños me encargaran crear obras de arte y cosas de utilidad práctica.
I started collecting wood long before I was a wood worker. At one time, I was very interested in metalcrafting and welding. I soon tired of the sparks and stench of burning metals. Sometime around the beginning of the millenium, I acquired a profound interest in wood.
I played pool for a living, and I had a strong desire to have a custom made pool cue. I was unable to afford to pay a cue smith to build me a pool cue, but I was able to scratch together enough money to buy my first saws and a lathe.
Soon after, I was building pool cues and enjoying my newfound passion for working with the various woods from around the world.
With the acquisition of many tools over the years, I soon found myself making hundreds of different things out of wood. I was able to make almost anything I needed out of fine, beautiful woods.
Of course, when friends and family began to see the things I was making... they had to have something like it. It didn't take long before I was being commissioned by strangers to create works of art and things of practical usefulness.
