Makers of unique items. All Handmade.
Working in the wood shop is a fine day indeed. I am a retired master carpenter and wood worker. I am lucky enough to be able to supplement my retirement by doing something I truly love.
It is in my shop where I am truly who I am at heart. A maker. My process starts with using my hands to create items that not only serve as a functional piece, but also something pleasurable to look at. My work often evokes conversations about eras gone by as my products are often made from reclaimed materials including vintage wood and metal. I was raised on a farm. I am an earthy and rustic kind of man and that shows in my work. Seeing the delight in friends and family's faces when receiving one of my hand made creations as a gift really inspired me to make for others. I might not be able to see the buyers expression when they open their purchase but while I am making, the thought of their response inspires me. It is always gratifying when customers reach out to tell me how my creations touched their lives....even in the most simple of ways.
To me the creative feeling during the making process is as important as achieving the final goal of a finished piece of work. I crave that feeling of creativity. It's what makes me a maker.
I put a little bit of myself into everything I create. I have always been drawn to wood and metal. Combining the two together is something I have never strayed from. Using objects I have collected over my lifetime also often find their way into my work. I consider each product order as a personal request. One item at a time, one day at a time. Always working from my heart.
