The only way to do great work is to love what you do
My name is Ludmila Gulevska. I was always a child with creative interests, spending countless hours drawing, painting , but during life I had to do many other things for living what didn`t satisfy my soul. 14 years ago happened something what turned my life in different direction. My daughter took me to an artist's shop obviously artistic environment woke up my artist soul. That was a start of my painting on silk. At the very beginning I thought I would never be able to do it, thought only select ones can paint on silk. However quite soon the first scarves were made for myself and my dear daughter. Surprisingly but it turned out to be such an exciting process! Through continuous painting I have improved my painting skills and quite soon my individual style of painting was created. Normally I paint without sketches, the idea comes in my mind and then I start improvising and to play with colours. I started with scarves, scarves, capes and gradually came down to dresses, skirts and even curtains.
After a while I got an inspiration to try something new - making fabric flowers which are perfect complement to dresses. I learned it by self-study, trough countless experiments finally I developed my own special flower making technique - without tools, just cloth, floss and candle to make the flower long lasting and washable. From individual flowers I switched to flower twigs, flower belts, wreaths and other accessories. When everything seemed to be tried, a new idea came. Flower making is related to bead embroidery, the next step was embroidered butterfly brooches. Gradually I started using natural materials and swarovski. At the moment I really like to embroider butterflies, but my head is full of new ideas and I just wondering what is going to be my next challange to charm myself and others.
I wear my own jewellery everyday, it makes me feel special and always attracts attention. They make my image more romantic.
All Ideas come from the universe and I just carry out them. Every item is created with love, happiness and passion. Pleasure in job puts perfection in the work, was said by Aristotle. Indeed, can`t disagree.... what could be better if you can do something you love? And I believe I pass on these feelings to the people who buy and wear my jewellery.
