Stultz Woodwork: Designed and Made by Jeff Stultz
I’ve always been drawn to design and the process of making. My interest in graphic art, photography, and music led me to New York City in 2001, where for over ten years I immersed myself in creative work - designing and managing a music promotion website, curating concerts, designing posters, touring as a sound engineer, and recording albums. In the midst of that whirlwind, I was always making small furniture pieces for myself and taking odd carpentry projects. I discovered a deeper pull toward working with my hands, so I enrolled in woodworking classes, and endeavored to pursue furniture making more seriously.
In 2012, I left New York for California’s Bay Area, where I apprenticed under Ken Periat at Made in Pescadero. Over the next seven years, I honed my craft in a small production shop, building all of the company’s signature pieces as well as custom commissions in a wide range of styles.
In 2018, I launched Stultz Woodwork in Ventura, CA, focusing on distinctive furnishings and custom kitchens. In 2024, I returned to the Bay Area and established my shop in Santa Cruz, CA, where I continue to design and build unique custom pieces that reflect my love of craft, simplicity, and precision.
