A Growing Artist with a Passion for Plants, Art, and Design
Art has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember, but I never really thought it could help me make a living and bring me to where I ultimately want to be in life, so I began to pursue design and attended the Georgia Institute of Technology for my Bachelor's of Science degree in Architecture. It was through my education that I realized my love for design as well, and how natural it felt to ask "why" and "how" about every detail to figure out where it goes and how it works. Pursuing that degree and working in the field, however, made me miss the organic creation of drawing and painting.
The past few years after graduating have given me more opportunity to work on my art and my own designs and do what I LOVE, making me happier than ever. That's what keeps me pushing to create every day.
Succulents came into the picture sometime in college, and I fell in love with watching them grow and seeing how happy they were in my care. I tried keeping a pothos and killed it (by overwatering), so I thought I would stick to succulents and grew a collection which I called my "Succullection." After I got my own place and had more room and an aching to liven up my space, I bought my first monstera cutting. I sat her by my single window, and she grew slow, tall, and awkward, like a teenager. However it wasn't until I found a full monstera at a grocery store for an incredible price that my addiction truly took off. I chose my next apartment for its little sunroom, filled it with my succulents and my two monsteras, and have been plant shopping to fill it ever since.
Once the floor space near my windows started getting limited, I began looking into ways to decorate the rest of my inadequately sunlit apartment with the same look and, more importantly, feeling that my luscious green babies gave me. This is where I discovered my passion for painting plants and finding creative ways to put that art everywhere. It began with prints, and evolved to stickers and window clings, into embroidery, into resin and ceramics, and continues to evolve even further.
My mission now is to surround others in plants and share the love and passion for these hobbies of mine with anyone who can appreciate the beauty of nature and art.
Thank you so much for your interest and support - I hope you enjoy my creations as much as I do, and may they bring light into the darkest corners of your home🌿
