Interesting Jewelry for Interesting People
Hi! I'm Sugar Gay Isber, the artist behind Gay Isber Designs.
I believe jewelry should do more than accessorize an outfit. It should start conversations, turn heads and occasionally make someone say, "WOW! Where did you get that?"
I've spent decades creating jewelry for people who love something a little different. My work has appeared in Tiffany & Co. windows, I've created a crown for Martha Stewart and even made a gift for Queen Elizabeth II. But the greatest compliment is still seeing someone light up when they discover a piece that feels made just for them.
My Texas studio is a treasure trove of unusual materials. I work with vintage beads and chains dating from the 1950s through the 1980s, along with pearls, fossils, crystals, minerals and beautiful curiosities collected over a lifetime.
I love giving forgotten materials a second life, transforming them into unexpected combinations and creating jewelry you won't find everywhere else.
I'm also an award-winning designer, longtime jewelry instructor at Austin Community College and someone who believes creativity should be shared generously.
My collections range from dramatic statement necklaces and sculptural cameos to playful earrings, unusual creatures and wearable little works of art. I also believe beautiful jewelry should fit real people, which is why many of my designs offer adjustable lengths.
When you purchase from my shop, you're supporting an independent American artist, not a factory. Every piece has a story, and I love knowing that it will become part of yours.
Take your time exploring. Find something strange. Find something beautiful. Find something that makes you smile.
Because ordinary jewelry is everywhere. Interesting jewelry is another story.
Welcome to Gay Isber Designs!
