Nestled deep in the woods where rolling farmland meets an enchanted forest, there's a little bakery unlike any other. Each morning, Susie J lovingly bakes fresh whimsies in her magical mixing bowl, adding just the right dash of imagination, a generous sprinkle of joy, and a pinch of sunshine.
The bakery shelves are filled with cupcakes, cookies, muffins, donuts, macarons, and every sweet treat you can imagine—but these goodies aren't for eating! They've magically transformed into whimsical crochet hooks, stitch markers, and handmade accessories designed to bring a smile to your face every time you stitch.
The cookies have been known to get into a bit of mischief, the cinnamon likes to wander where it doesn't belong, and every now and then a muffin disappears into a cloud of powdered sugar before popping back up just in time to be packed with love and sent off to its new home.
Behind the storybook magic is a very real story.
Susie J was my mother.
She was an incredible baker whose greatest gift wasn't simply making beautiful cookies and muffins—it was sharing them. She lovingly filled baskets with homemade treats and delivered them to friends, neighbors, and anyone who could use a little comfort, especially when they were under the weather. She believed that even the smallest act of kindness could brighten someone's day.
After she passed away in 2017, I created Susie J's as a way to honor her legacy.
Today, I carry on that same spirit in a different way. Instead of baskets filled with baked goods, I create handmade crochet treasures that I hope bring comfort, joy, and a little bit of whimsy to makers around the world.
Every crochet hook, stitch marker, and tiny bakery creation is sculpted by hand with love, carefully packaged, and—just like Susie J would have done—packed with kindness.
