crochet patterns for lovers of all-the-things

Announcement    I love designing and the art of crochet has allowed me to do just that. I enjoy the many textures that crochet offers. I strive to introduce new stitch combinations and textures in each of my designs. I love designing accessories for Men, Women, Children and Babies along with crochet pieces for the Home and Everyday Life.

I have been crocheting for 30+ years. I started designing in 2007 when my children where still little and at home. I love spending time outdoors whether it is running, walking my dog, hiking, camping, white water rafting, kayaking, downhill skiing or just dinner on the patio. I find so much inspiration in nature and love that I can combine my love of crochet with my love for the outdoors.

Finding a True Passion

Welcome to Sweet Potato 3 Patterns! I am a stay at home mom of 3 children who are my inspiration and joy of my life along with my husband. As a young girl my Great Grandmother taught me the art of crocheting. Working along side my Grandmother was such valuable one on one time and still brings back so many fond memories.

When my friends started having children I picked the crochet hook back up and started making baby blankets, there is just someting extra special about giving a handmade gift. Making these gifts continued, especially when I started my own family. I started making hats to keep them warm, especially when they didn't need anymore blankets. This is when the compliments and requests started coming. I opened a shop selling my hats and then much to my surprise I started getting requests for where I got my patterns from. These requests were a huge pat on my back because I designed most of my hats.

I soon started writing up my patterns and sharing them with my clients. This continued into me opening up my own shop featuring hats, photography props and a few misc patterns. I truely enjoy sharing each one with you.

I hope you enjoy the patterns I create. Please keep checking back as I will keep adding new items. If you don't see what you want just let me know and I will see what I can do, I am always up for a challenge. Thank you so much for taking the time to read a bit about my backstory.

Additional policies and FAQs
Sizing information for hat patterns from Sweet Potato 3 Patterns:

Sizes are approximation to an age, all children are unique in size so please measure for accuracy. I size my hats according to the CDC Head Circumference for Age Charts and track/size according the 50th percentile. Hats should fit barely snug (ideal fit will be about 1-2 inches smaller than the head measurement).

Newborn (12 ¼ ” around & 5” high - fits up to 14” circumference)
3 to 6 Months (14” around & 5 ½ “ high - fits up to 15" or 16" circumference)
6 to 12 Months (16" around & 6” high - fits up to 18" circumference)
12 to 24 Months (17" around & 6 ½ “ high - fits up to 19" circumference)
Child (18” around & 7 ½ “ high - fits up to 20" circumference)

Care for all crochet items:
I recommend hand washing and laying flat to dry. Machine washing and drying will cause the item to shrink
