About Swell Scenes
Aloha! My name is David. I'm a designer, developer, artist, surfer, and hiker. I'm a Florida native, and moved to Hawaii after college in pursuit of the perfect wave. I lived in the islands for 10 years, spending 2 years on Oahu and 8 years on Maui. I've also lived in San Diego, California and Boulder, Colorado. Eventually, I moved back to Sarasota, Florida to start a family with my wife, and we've been blessed with two crazy little boys.
I have a background in art, design, and development. I attended a visual arts high-school and majored in traditional and computer animation in college. My career has ranged from a lead animator and storyboard artist for Cartoon Network series to interactive design and development for fortune 500 companies. As a designer and developer, I still spend much of my time developing websites and software, but I started Swell Scenes as a creative outlet for sharing my interests and love of the locations where I've lived and visited.
I partnered with my friend and fellow artist/designer, Travis. Together we create a wide range of art for Swell Scenes, focusing on our favorite locations and personal interests. We create the art using a combination of tools like Illustrator, Photoshop, and Midjourney—utilizing our art and design skills to create beautiful scenes. I hope you enjoy the artwork of Swell Scenes! Thanks for taking the time to check out the work!
