TETONDOGS

Teton Dog was started by Kevin A. Strait, PhD, a resident of Park City, and a Professor at the University of Utah, School of Medicine, his sister Lynn and a pup named Koda. When Koda, a Newfoundland, needed surgery in the Fall of 2012 Lynn looked everywhere for a new dog bed (the current one being dirty, stained and smelly), to aide in her recovery. Not one single bed was truly waterproof, let alone anti-bacterial or easily washable. Living in Park City with a snow covered dog 6 months of the year, Kevin had long ago resigned himself to throwing out wet, smelly “Impossible to keep clean” dog beds, every spring. When Lynn called Kevin, he began working with a fabric manufacturer in the USA on what would eventually become 100% Waterproof Nanopore fabric. Nanopore Waterproofing is NOT a chemical spray (like Scotchguard) waterproofing like you find used on Nylon fabric, that wears off. 100% Waterproof Nanopore NEVER wears off, and can be washed 100s of times, even in HOT WATER. We manufactured several yards and Lynn made our first Ultra-CLEAN Dog Bed. In addition to being 100% waterproof, machine washable and stain-resistant our fabric is also impervious to dust, dirt, pollen even dog hair. With help from her Ultra-CLEAN Dog Bed, Koda was up and running around after her surgery in no time with Lynn’s grandchildren and Teton Dog was born.
