We started this shop because we love a good shirt.
Not the kind you buy three in a plastic pack- the kind someone reads across a car park and grins at it. Gothic blackletter one-liners, Metal shirts for cat people. Watercolor florals with something faintly sinister growing through them. And Glamouratti Haunts, which is what happens when Halloween gets a little glamorous.
There are two of us. We have been together for over 14 years, and we still argue about the thermostat daily.
Every design is a joke one of us makes out loud, and then gets drawn properly - the right lettering, the right amount of wear on the print, colours chosen so the design reads on the shirt instead of sinking into it. If a design does not work on a particular shirt colour, we do not offer it on that colour. We would rather sell fewer shirts than send out one that looks muddy.
We both still have day jobs. In a few years we would like to stop and spend a good stretch of that time somewhere far from home- this shop is part of how we get there, and honestly it is also what we would like to be doing once we do. Every order nudges that along, which is a strange and lovely thing to be able to say.
Printing happens on demand at a facility in the USA, so your shirt is made after you order it. Nothing is made without anyone actually wanting it.
New designs go up every week. If one of them makes you laugh out loud, that was the whole idea
