We finally got to put the bed frame together as we were waiting for our new mattress to arrive. It’s cleverly constructed and needs no tools for assembly aside from the Allen wrenches provided. It’s handsome in cherry. We love it.

A custom Enso Dreser with 8 Spacious Drawers

Starting Small, Humble Beginnings.

I remember when I started my business working out of a small 300-square-foot basement while working on my engineering degree. The space was cramped, dark and less than ideal. I stored lumber in the crawl space and had just enough room for about 6 boards at a time. I could only work on one project at a time, and it usually occupied the same space on the basement floor through the whole process, from rough assembly through finishing.

I started with just a basic set of hand tools a very small table and a miter saw which I purchased for under $100. I spent the bulk of my free money on hand tools, keeping two part time jobs to pay for my furniture building and support me through school. I believe any hand tool will be far more versatile than any power tool and take up less space.

Every item I made those first years was hand planed; dovetails were all hand cut, every little detail was chiseled, and everything was and still is meticulously crafted. This formed the basis for my furniture business and my work ethic. I learned to put a lot of sweat and perseverance into every piece I make.

Eventually, I moved into a slightly larger 1000-square-foot space, it was still less than ideal, But having more space made work much easier. The roof leaked like a sieve when it rained and the lighting was terrible. The space had a funny smell I still remember to this day. However, the most vivid memory was of all the wonderful artists I worked alongside in that building.

Now located close to Downtown Columbus Ohio, Our generous shop leaves plenty of room to create, and be inspired and helps us share our love of the craft with the world.
