Tamiah Designs is a UK-based creative brand specialising in gifts, stationery, and homeware inspired by the richness of African textiles. Founded by Kouassi Gaelle, a French–Ivorian textile crafter and curator, the brand celebrates the vibrancy, history, and diversity of African fabrics through contemporary design.
Growing up between Paris and Côte d’Ivoire, Gaelle was immersed from an early age in the joyful colours and patterns of traditional cloth. After completing postgraduate studies in engineering and moving to the UK, she felt a strong pull to reconnect with her heritage. Her love of textiles, combined with a desire to showcase African craftsmanship to a wider audience, became the foundation of Tamiah Designs.
Named after Gaelle’s daughter, Tamiah Designs is both a tribute to family and a celebration of culture. Each piece is thoughtfully crafted or curated to highlight the beauty of African fabrics while offering customers distinctive, meaningful products that carry a story.
