My name is Ana Clark I am a full time artist, I started knitting and crocheting when I was about 5 years old. I used to get fascinated looking at my grandmother crocheting, she used to make pure white cotton doilies for the tea table or colorful crochet squares for a blanket for my grandfather. My mother on the other hand was always sewing or knitting for us. Times were very difficult for most people back then in the small town in Chile where I was born. Even though we didn’t have much we had enough to make the best of it. I remember how my Mother managed to take care of us with such a dedication and passion, she would buy a small roll of fabric and make different styles of garments for my sisters and me, she will undo an old sweater from my father and knit a smaller one for one of my brothers. I remember when I received my First Communion and back then little girls wear a white dress for the Church ceremony, my parents were having a very difficult time putting food on the table for us at that time, but my mother bought a very small piece of the most amazing white lace and in one day she made me the most beautiful dress I ever had. Yes, I will said that I am a pure blood artist, I have it in my soul, my heart and in my genes and I enjoy to create something with the same passion that my mother did for us. Sometimes I may be making a painting of a rose that I got from the garden, or sometimes I would stay up late knitting a new style slippers because I cannot wait to see how they will look like when they are done. Art is my way of life and I enjoy every aspect of it.
