Building a business from the ground up can be a long and difficult journey, especially when you’re in foreign, unfamiliar territory. My brother Michael and I, both FIU Alumni’s, know this very well.

In 2008, Michael left Venezuela in search of better opportunities in the US and I followed shortly thereafter. Eager to make a name for ourselves, we started a small business, Tape Providers, selling adhesive products out of our home.
We specialized on special pressure sensitive adhesives tape products that are applied to various industries from packaging tape to pinstriping, book-binding, window glazing, scrapbooking, etc. and complement our customers by also providing tape dispensers for efficiency when using our items.
Our entrance into the adhesive industry was ultimately one of opportunity.

How was Tape Providers created?
Tape Providers was created in early 2014 as a sole proprietorship selling adhesive tape products through Amazon and eBay because when we looked at the market at that time it was very fierce, so we decided to promote listings and start purchasing our merchandise from a local retailer ABT TRADING GROUP in which prices per items where very expensive; however, we were able to succeed and find our competitive advantage because our overhead was barely zero compare to our competition and by also providing an excellent customer service. Tape Providers business model when opened its selling channels was to be less expensive than competition while maintaining the same product quality and customer service. In other words, we were able to exceed expectations estimated time of arrival expectations, that is because our average delivery time is 5 business days which has been key to gather large number of positives reviews creating a trustworthy e-store as a whole.

After striking a deal with a local distributor, Adhesive Tape Products, Inc, Michael and I were able to offer our products at better prices than our competitors. It gave us a unique angle of attack into an otherwise saturated marketplace.

We began marketing and selling via online marketplaces like Amazon and eBay. Soon our Gaffers Stage Tape, Electrical Tape, Bifilament tape, and Vinyl Marking Tape were selling throughout the US.
