🌿 Taurus Handmade – Upcycled & Traditional Anatolian Bags
TRADITION MEETS INNOVATION
Hey everyone I am Furkan. I decided to weave excess shoelaces—considered textile waste—on the traditional looms of the Taurus Mountains of Anatolia one of the oldest and almost forgotten values of the region inherited by the Yuruks who are Traditional Nomadic people.
These textile wastes, which are usually incinerated, are now being transformed on these cultural heritage looms. Additionally, our work empowers women who have not yet achieved economic independence.
By combining all these valuable elements, we have succeeded in producing everyday bags, beach bags, and many other goods by weaving shoelaces on traditional looms. Over time, our project grew to include naturally dyed raw wool, each crafted with care, tradition, and creativity. You may also find our handmade beaded accessories in another shop of mine, which is named TaurusShine.
