Should I expect the resin in my olive wood and resin cutting board to have inclusions?
Our River of Resin and Shoreline Resin boards are poured onto "live edge" olive wood boards. During the pour process, it is normal for small bits of the live edge to make their way into the resin. It is simply impossible to avoid and it assures that every board is unique!
Can you make changes to a design?
Absolutely! We can tweak a design or we can make something just for you. Please message us with any special requests.
Can you create a totally custom design for me?
Yes we can! We may charge a small design fee (hey this stuff takes time you know!) and we can create a custom listing just for you that only you can order. Just message us with what you'd like and we'll collaborate to make it happen.
How do I care for my cutting board?
The short answer is mineral oil and beeswax. Giving your board a nice slathering of food-grade mineral oil once a month should keep it in like-new condition. Every now and then, you may want to apply a cutting board conditioner which contains both mineral oil and beeswax. We are very fond of Howard's Butcher Block Conditioner and Howards Wax-it-All. Both products are 100% food-safe and it'll really bring out the wood grain.
We include a care sheet with every cutting board order.
What makes you different than other cutting board sellers on Etsy (or anywhere for that matter)?
We take pride in our work, and we really do enjoy what we do! Our hardwood cutting boards are hand-sanded and hand-finished to perfection with multiple coats of food grade mineral oil and beeswax after the engraving process is complete. If it doesn't look right, it doesn't go out the door. Period. There are some shops that give the same attention to detail, but many don't.
Are you "Green?"
We strive to use 100% renewable products in all of our packaging. You won't find plastic. When you order from us, you'll be impressed with our "Out of Box Experience." We're not "fancy" - we're responsible!
Why don't you accept returns or exchanges?
When you receive your order, you can be assured that it is of the highest quality and has been engraved exactly to your specifications. Once your product is custom engraved, we are unable to sell it to anyone else if it is returned. If your product is defective or if we made a mistake in your order through fault of our own, we will replace your order for you at no charge. Please note that all of our cutting boards are made from natural woods and that every piece of wood is different and unique. There may be differences in grain, tone and finish from the displayed photo. This is considered "normal" and is to be expected. If you are unsatisfied with your order, please message us and give us a chance to make it right.
