Sawdust to Success: The Texas Table Studio Story
Ever since I could hold tools, I've been hooked on woodworking. Watching my granddad turn blocks of wood into something amazing was my kind of magic. Those days in his shop, around the smell of sawdust and the sound of sawing, were more than just hanging out—they were my first steps down a path I didn’t even know I was destined to follow. But, as things go, life had other plans before I could fully embrace my calling.
A Detour Through the Digital World
Fast forward a bit, and I found myself deep in the digital realm, crafting websites for anyone from the corner store to local startups. It was a world away from woodworking, but it paid the bills and kept the family afloat. Still, every chance I got, I was in my shop, trying to recapture the magic I felt as a kid. Woodworking stayed my go-to hobby, but I wished every day it could be my real job.
Back to the Roots: The Birth of Texas Table Studio
Then came the curveball—Covid-19. Like many, I found myself out of work and staring down a whole lot of uncertainty. But when a few friends asked for handmade tables, and those pieces started getting attention, a lightbulb went off. Here was my chance to turn my lifelong hobby into something more, to create something lasting with my own two hands.
Starting Texas Table Studio wasn’t just about making tables; it was about getting back to what I loved, creating pieces that would be a part of people’s lives and homes. The support and positive feedback from my customers have been overwhelming, and I’m pumped for what the future holds.
