tierneycreates has returned!
Welcome to Textiles & Smiles! I first opened my Etsy shop in 2013 under the name "tierneycreates: a fusion of textiles and smiles". Due to a technical issue I could not re-open my shop under that name so I decided to use key words from my tagline - "Textiles and Smiles". As a busy healthcare professional I put by Etsy shop on hold in 2017 and in 2018 the unthinkable happened - my life partner Terry the Quilting Husband (TTQH) as he was known on my tierneycreates.com/blog died suddenly and I began my widow's journey. Dark days got brighter and with time I was able to re-explore my creativity and I am so happy to now re-open my Etsy shop to offer handmade items and materials to fuel your creativity. I
I am originally from NY and have lived in Texas, Seattle, Central Oregon and now the Denver Metro area of Colorado. I began quilting in the late 1990s during the rainy Seattle winters. You can read more of my story on my tierneycreates.com website. I've been an active blogger on my tierneycreates.com/blog since 2013 sharing stories from "A Crafter's Life" where I've met friends around the world. There is so much creative energy and talented makers in this world! I've been continuing on my art quilting journey, the City of Seattle now owns 4 of my pieces as part of their Portable Works Collection and I've exhibited story/art quilts in several Women of Color Quilting Network (WCQN) shows. You can check out my art quilts on my tierneycreates.com website under "Portfolio", I primarily use recycled materials to make art quilts.
Thank you for taking the time to stop at my shop and I hope you find something that makes you smile!
