Each cyanotype print begins with a photograph taken on my countryside walks. The images are carefully transformed using the traditional cyanotype process and developed in natural sunlight.

Every print is individually exposed, rinsed and finished by hand, meaning no two are ever exactly the same.

Printed on high-quality heavyweight paper for a beautiful and lasting finish.

The Blue Print Studio – Sun-Developed Cyanotype Prints

I love to take photographs on my regular walks and these are often the inspiration behind some of my cyanotypes.
I turn my photos into digital negatives and expose them to sunlight on treated paper. The weather plays a big part!
Sometimes I like to use organic material and find that it creates some amazing effects. It's a process of experimenting.
When rinsed and treated, the dramatic (or sometimes more subtle) cyan blue develops. Fascinating to watch. I love it.
The prints are dried to get the finished product. It's a time-consuming but very rewarding process. Thanks for reading!

Sun-developed cyanotype prints inspired by my countryside walks

Spending time in the landscape has always been something I have loved doing since childhood. Long walks in the countryside offer a quiet space to notice the small details that often go overlooked.

Photography became a natural way for me to capture these moments. Over time, it has given me the opportunity to explore a creative side of myself that I had long set aside.

I first began experimenting with cyanotypes and quickly found that I really enjoyed the process. I wanted to transform the photographs I took on my walks into something more timeless — images that feel connected to the past as well as the present.

The photographs are carefully converted into negatives and exposed to natural sunlight using the traditional cyanotype process before being rinsed and developed by hand. Because each print is made individually, subtle variations occur and no two are ever exactly the same.

From this original idea, The Blue Print Studio was formed — bringing together walking, photography, and the cyanotype process to create handmade landscape prints.
