Vintage Craft, Original Vision
I've spent more than 30 years working as a professional graphic artist, and since 2006, building the Clockwork Bird brand. Along the way I worked through more tools and techniques than I can count, until my style finally found its shape. Ink drawing, medieval and Baroque engraving, woodcuts, vintage design — these have always run through my work, and they still define it today. Laser engraving turned out to be a natural extension of that: the same interplay of precision, contrast, and light against shadow that first drew me to engraving centuries ago, now rendered in a new medium. It's the same visual language, carried forward.
This is a one-person studio. I conceive, create, and refine every design myself, working from an old house in a small medieval town in Hungary, surrounded by forest and hills — a setting that shapes the work more than I probably realize. I don't chase trends, and I've never built by copying. Modern tools, including AI, are part of the process now, but they serve the same purpose every tool always has for me: extending the vision, not replacing it. Twenty years of that discipline is what gives the work its consistency — and, apparently, its imitators. If anything, that's made the originals easier to tell apart.
Every design here is held to the same standard: clean execution, laser-ready files, built to be used again and again. I hope working with them brings you as much satisfaction as making them brought me.
