Here it is 2020! 6 years after opening my shop and selling tortoise cozies, I've decided to expand my offerings. While many of these will be tortoise/turtle theme, some of them will not be. I love to create/craft and hope you find something that you like. In 2014 I opened my Etsy shop with the idea of selling some of my crocheted items. I was trying to come up with a name for my shop. I've collected turtle/tortoise figurines since I was a kid, I have over 200 of the little critters. I thought it would be great to have the word turtle or tortoise in my shop name so I was looking through Etsy shops with those words in it.

I came across TheMossyTortoise. I was fascinated by the tortoise cozies that Katie Bradley was making and I loved her story and her blog about how she raises tortoises. Her story also indicated that she was so busy making those beautiful cozies that she might be hiring some additional crochet help for the busy Holiday season last year. Imagine my surprise when I realized she lived here in Vancouver, WA - less than 10 miles from my own home! I contacted Katie and began doing some contract crochet work (crocheting the bases) so that she could finish and decorate them for her clients. She sure kept me busy!

Katie Bradley is taking a much needed hiatus from crochet work and has given her blessing for me to help carry on the Tortoise Cozy torch.
