Following a dream......
For as long as I can remember, I have always been crafty. My mother used to say I was "artsy" and she had no idea where I got it from. My need to create is something I crave daily. I have been fortunate enough to have the opportunity feed this need while being home with my son....who also likes to be "artsy".
In 2004, just by chance on an afternoon lunch break, I went to my first bead show. I fell in love with this world, the people and the little pieces of art that can be found in a bead. At the show, someone showed me how to construct a necklace and I was officially hooked. I began to make jewelry for myself and friends and family. I couldn't stop. It was then that I decided that I want to open my own shop and share my love of this form of artwork.
Color, nature and the places I have been serve as my inspiration for my pieces. Putting all the components together in a piece is what I enjoy. I enjoy working with all sorts of mediums, including glass, yarn, felt and upcycled paper. I am always striving for an out-of-the-box idea.
I make all of my pieces in my New York home by myself. When I am in the zone, I can churn out idea after idea. They don't always work, but when they do, I feel such a sense of accomplishment . I love to be able to follow my dream.
I hope you enjoy looking through my shop and enjoy the pieces as much as I do.
