5 out of 5 starsIt's a lovely thing, to be able to own something so solid and well made by hand, for use in my own handicrafts. The wood is smooth and well-finished, the shape of the distaff is well suited to several different ways of tying on fiber. Exactly what it needs to be. If I had one suggestion to make, I find the ring itself to be a little thick for my hand, I will definitely keep my eye out for distaffs with a slightly thinner in-hand profile. I have to use it rather far out on my finger, or else I get hand pain from my fingers being pushed apart at an angle for an extended period of time. A thinner ring/ handle would give me more flexibility with the angle I hold it at, so I'll definitely be keeping an eye out for any designs of that kind from this maker.
