Prioritize Your Obsessions ... it’s the statement that started it all.
Hello, my name is Doc Martin and I am an artist, photographer, designer, illustrator and interior stylist. My wife is always reminding me to "Prioritize My Obsessions" because there seems to be no limit to the things I want to accomplish creatively on a daily basis. So I took her advice and started The Groovy Grotto Studio here on Etsy!
I feel very fortunate, because I am able to be creative for a living. In my day job, I am the art director and all around "Jack-of-All" for an automotive design firm. On any given day you will find me designing products like custom wheels, apparel or even watches! I am also the firms photographer, web designer, and graphic artist! (whew....I am tired just thinking about all of that.)
My creative obsessions tend to drift away from the technical side of things when I am away from the “day job”. I created The Groovy Grotto Studio as an outlet where my interests in Tiki, Mid Century Modern, Nautical and vintage Polynesian Pop, Photography, and Vintage Americana are filtered through a prismatic funnel of bombastic zen to produce my "Media Graffiti" style art and home decor. My goal is to create artwork and decor that will look great LARGE and will make a BOLD statement when added to any room.
In my small but efficient studio, I personally conceptualize, create, pack and ship every order. Wearing so many hats at once, I sometimes feel like an army of one!
