About Gee
Papa Gee is a folk magician, author, folklorist, and artist based in Nashville, Tennessee. His work is rooted in Southern and Appalachian folk tradition, old magical practices, folklore, and the handmade objects that have long been part of everyday spiritual life.
At Papa Gee’s Folkloreum, you’ll find an ever-changing collection of things Gee makes, writes, and creates: spirit dolls, folk-magic amulets and charms, handcrafted jewelry, books, oils, soaps, greeting cards, original art, and other magical and folkloric curiosities. Some pieces draw directly from traditional folk practices, while others reflect Gee’s love of witches, black cats, goddesses, nature, old stories, and the strange little bits of magic that turn up in ordinary life.
Gee has been practicing folk magic and making magical goods for decades and is the author of 19 books on folk magic and related subjects. He is also the host of The Feral Folklorist podcast and co-owner of aromaG’s Botanica in Nashville, Tennessee.
