There's Not Much to It
I've been obsessed with tarot ever since I started studying it in 2019. Not only was it fun, but the practice allowed me to reflect and learn so much more than I thought possible about myself. We all think we know ourselves inside-and-out, but tarot really challenges that and that's exactly why I love it so much!
The Fool's Ink was born almost on a whim one summer day a few months after Covid-19 hit. There wasn't much to do cooped up in quarantine, and I knew that I loved reading tarot for my friends, so I started to wonder what it would be like to read for complete strangers. It was a new and exciting challenge because after all my practice, I wanted to really test my abilities. Could I give people tarot readings that resonated with them without fully knowing their whole story?
This small Etsy shop started off as an experimental hobby. Yet, I didn't expect how many wonderful people I would meet and how many would actually become my friends. I didn't expect my readings to have that big of an impact on other people's lives, but then I was flooded with messages of people giving their thanks. They would say how I helped them get out of bad situations, how the readings I gave offered them strength and motivation in whatever they were going through at the time, how just my words and a couple of cards on a table opened their eyes to an entire new perspective. And I certainly didn't expect how inspired I would be by their stories, nor how much I would learn from them! Just as the cards and Spirit were offering my customers and friends new insights, I was being taught to take on new perspectives from them. This little shop has taught me so much about people, our world, and life in general, and for that, I will be forever grateful.
The Fool's Ink is no longer just a hobby. I'm not sure if I would even consider it a side hustle. This shop has made me dream of opening an actual in-person, physical tarot boutique that I have so many ideas for. The idea of meeting all the people I've met through the screen who have been so vulnerable with me, who have allowed me to see tiny glimpses into their lives, who have trusted me to help them pick up the chips that have fallen from their shoulders, in-person is so exciting to me.
I've realized that this path could very much be my life's purpose, one of healing and lightwork. So, I hope that I can continue to touch people's lives, that you will join our beautiful community, and stick around to watch this little shop grow into something even more phenomenal!
