Sharing what I love with you!
My shop reflects one of my loves - vintage treasures, especially linens, and hand embroidered articles. This has been a lifelong love and I guess it began when I was given some pieces hand embroidered by my mother who died when I was five years old. I still have these lovely pieces.
I'd like to give you an idea of how and why I offer my items to you. Since retiring from full time work I have begun to frequent garage sales and thrift stores. The linen items really spoke to me, maybe because I knew how much time and love went into making them. They they were being sold for so little. I couldn't let them sit there, unloved. I'd like to pass these pieces on to others who will love them.
Since I found Etsy, I've thought of my role as a kind of "rescuer and re-homer" for vintage linens. I've been finding great homes for previously unwanted, under-appreciated treasures. It's heartening to see how many of you still recognize and value the quality and class of these items - it's just a matter of getting them into the right hands!
So, I spend my days immersed in activities I enjoy - hunting treasures at garage sales and bringing sad and wrinkled linens back to their glory. I also enjoy re-purposing vintage linen, creating a new item using a fabric piece of history and bringing it back to life.
Thanks for taking the time to learn more about me and my shop!
