Wife, mom of two boys, middle school teacher, and pillow maker.
My name is Amanda. I'm a wife, a mom of two wild and crazy boys, and a 6th grade middle school teacher. I started sewing about nine years ago when I saw a quilt on Pinterest that I just had to make for my first born. I had never sewn a stitch, didn't own a sewing machine, and had no idea what I was doing - but I was determined. I bought a cheap machine, found a few blogs and YouTube videos, and a new hobby was born. Who knew that one decision would turn into a passion and obsession with fabric and pillows? It became even more important when we moved to Brasil. Being away from family, in a country where I didn't speak the language, that sewing hobby became a lifeline for me. It connected me on Instagram to fellow makers around the world and gave me an outlet for creativity. Back in the States, I knew I wanted to take the next step and work hard to make a business out of my love of fabric.
All pillow covers are handmade by me - in between taking boys to school, teaching 6th grade, fulfilling requests for snacks, and making dinner. I work in a converted guest bedroom that is piled high with fabric, scraps, and a treadmill.
Each fabric and pillow is made as if it were going in my own home. I only choose fabrics that I would want for myself - which means I actually make several to keep!
