What started as a hobby slowly became a collection of little projects made because I needed something, couldn't find quite the right thing, or simply had an idea that I wanted to try.
A doorstop here. A bag there. A decorative piece that I couldn't resist making. And quite often, something that started as an experiment turned out much better than I expected!
That's really what The Ninth Thread is about.
Making things I genuinely love.
I don't follow a strict collection or make hundreds of identical pieces. I like discovering a beautiful fabric and wondering "What could I turn this into?"
Some of my makes are practical, some are decorative, and some are simply because I thought they were too lovely not to make.
You'll find a little bit of country charm, coastal inspiration, pretty florals, ginghams and plenty of character along the way.
Everything is made by me, from my little sewing space in the UK. Any of the items you see can be made in any of the fabrics shown on other items.
There may be the occasional experiment, a new idea that takes me somewhere unexpected, or a fabric that completely changes my plans!
And that's half the fun.
Thank you for stopping by The Ninth Thread and taking a look at the things I've made.
I hope you find something here that makes you smile. 🤍
Made with fabric, thread and a little bit of imagination.
